2016 on the Red Phone Box travels

Who would have thought that I would write constantly for almost a year and a half? I certainly didn’t think so when I hit publish for the first time back in 2015. And here I am now, 132 posts later,  looking back at 2016 on my blog. Firstly, I’d like to thank all my readers and followers! 🙂 Your support means a lot to me, especially since only a handful of my friends know about my travel blog. I don’t have a lot of travel plans for 2017 actually. My first and foremost travel goal is to finally visit Munich, Germany. But I’ll wait for a month or so until I make any real travel arrangements. After that, if I find a good deal, a cheap flight or if I suddenly want to visit badly some place, I’ll go. If not, I’ll stay at home. Travel isn’t everything! That’s one lesson I learnt the hard way in 2016. Anyway, I still haven’t written about all of my travels from 2016 (and earlier) and I want to continue to write my blog series Discover Croatia. So, there’ll be plenty of new posts in 2017! 🙂

Let’s take a look at 2016 on the Red Phone Box travels:

  1. I do hope you write more about Croatia Tanja – from a local’s perspective I think it would be very interesting to the reader. We’re right now back in our favorite home base of Split and will mostly take it easy over the next few months but will also see a few places that we’ve missed (and that we want to see before the crowds get here).

    Yes, get Pinterest!!

  2. I find it really hard to write about home too. I’ve lived in Geneva for the last 15 months and haven’t yet written any posts on the city yet! I really need to push forward with Pinterest in 2017

  3. I love your approach to your Munich trip! We’re hoping to go to Iceland and/or Spain this year, and I need to have that approach, too. If we can find a great deal and work out the budget, then, great! If not, then we can stay home and do something fun here. 🙂 I hope 2017 is the best yet for you, Tanja–I can’t wait to read about your adventures, both near and far!

  5. I’m right there with you on the “write better not more often” blog goal. I’d love to have as many commenters (and thus blog readers!) as you have!

As for social media, I’m currently loving twitter chats. They are a fun way to get your voice out there, interact with other bloggers/travelers, and learn something new. And, like someone else said, don’t feel confined to images taken with your phone for instagram. You may consider using Pinterest as a type of “bucketlist” or planning tool for your future travels.

Anyway, I wish you much success, blog and social media growth, and awesome writing skills in 2017! 🙂

  6. Just discovered your blog. Wow so many posts – I’m impressed! I’ve just been going for just under a year so 2016’s been a busy year getting to grips with blogs and social media!!!! I LOVE instagram and take all my photos on my iphone5. But I use a fab free app called LATER where you can upload/schedule your photos from your computer. I’ve just started on twitter but need tips on that you feel free to give me any if you have any 🙂 Looking forward to your Croatia series!

  7. To be honest with you.. a lot of photos I upload to Instagram, I have taken with a different camera – I then upload them to Flickr & download them to my phone so I can put them on Instagram. Sure a lot of them are from my phone camera but I think these days, it doesn’t really matter that much. Some of the photos you see out there are definitely not taken & edited on the phone!!
