The ABCs of my travels

A fellow travel blogger whose recent posts from her latest trip to England left me green-eyed with jealousy has also published a fun little post called Alphabet travels. I thought I could do a similar post 🙂  So, I went through all my travel photos (not an easy task) to find one for the each letter of the (English) alphabet. Actually, like she did, I wanted to see whether I’ve visited cities/towns/places whose names correspond to each letter of the alphabet. For instance, I had plenty of choice for letter B since I visited Budapest and Barcelona and Bruges and Belgrade and Bologna …. But I’ve definitely not been to any place whose name begins with letter X. Maybe the alphabet should be the inspiration for my next trip? Let’s go to a place that starts with X or U 🙂

  1. How fun! I’m not sure I’ve visited nearly enough places to fill in an alphabet but you did a great job with this! I guess I need to start working on filling in my missing letters, so that one day I can do this too. 🙂

  2. Haha, fun idea for a post! I’m trying to think of places for J, Q, X, and Y. Queenstown in New Zealand and Queensland in Australia are both definitely worth a visit. Yellowstone is said to be incredible. For J, I can recommend the obscure tiny town of Jajce in Bosnia Herzegovina… #wednesdaywanderlust

  3. For the X-factor, I can recommend you Xi’an in China, where you can find the Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. This is actually our travelling plan for the next year. Maybe we’ll see there 🙂

  4. Your post left me wondering if I have been to a place starting with an X. Perhaps, your next long trip should be to Xi’an in China, a fascinating place with its terracotta warriors and all. #CityTripping

  5. Jersulam, Quebec, Utrecht but I’m stuck on the X – you may need to head for Mexico for that!
What a charming idea to share your A-Z you have been to a lot of places, I’m off to read some of them.

  6. Great idea for a post. You’ve definitely got me thinking how many I’d be able to cross off! I must have gone somewhere with a J before…. Quebec City would sort your Q. Thanks for linking #citytripping

  8. Wow! This is such a cool list. You have been to so many places. For the letter “Q”, you can got to Quito (but that is super far for you). There is a city called Quimper in France (that is closer to you). #MondayEscapes

  9. This is a great posting Tanja! Okay, I have two options for you for “X” cities/towns…. The one closest to you is Xanten, Deutschland, in the state of North Rhine-Westpahlia (60 km from Düsseldorf). The other is Xenia, Illinois, USA. This is 197 km from my house… So when you visit the US, I can help you guys get there! 😀

  10. This is such a great idea for a post and you have some lovely pics! I feel like to knock the X off of your list you’ll either have to go to Mexico or China! Can’t think of anywhere outside of those 2 beginning with X!
