Finding the Easter bunny in Opatija….

April. After almost a month of procrastinating and studying and feeling very much out of sorts I’ve finally did it! I passed all 8 exams in 3 days and had a great presentation. I got my certificate and now I need to put in my papers for my new licence. What is it? I’m…taadaaa… A TOURIST GUIDE FOR CROATIA! 🙂 It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a long time and finally decided to give it a try. I do have a lot of experience in tourism already so this won’t be something completely new for me. There are different rules for tourist guides in different countries. In Croatia, you have to have a licence for each region, so I got a licence for two regions. For example, I can take a group of tourists to Dubrovnik and tell them all about different places while we’re on the bus but once we actually get to Dubrovnik I’d need to hire a local tourist guide who has the licence for Dubrovnik. Now, I have a licence for Primorsko-goranska county which includes places such as Rab island ( check this post) and Opatija and many other gorgeous seaside towns and islands and some lovely countryside places too. I’ve also got a licence for Plitvice Lakes ( Ličko-senjska county) 🙂 . So that’s my big news. Actually, there’s another major news but you’ll have to wait a bit longer for that one. I’m loving all the suspense 🙂

How did you spend the Easter weekend? I mainly just ate. A lot 😉 Anyway, I’m telling you all this life stuff without even mentioning this little blog of mine. Recently, I felt more like writing so hopefully there’ll be more posts soon. You can check some of my last month’s posts below..

Last month I mentioned how I lost my blogging mojo. I’m happy to say that I’ve been writing more in the past two weeks so hopefully I can continue to do that. Also, I got   some cool postcards in my letterbox since a little group of postcards enthusiasts  answered my call for postcards exchange I blogged about before. 🙂

Also it seems that there’s a baby boom among some of my favourite bloggers 🙂 I open Bloglovin’ and see yet another pregnancy announcement post.  Congratulations to all! Wishing you all the best!

  3. Congratulations Tanja! The exams sound thorough. Do you get tested on history etc of the areas you’ll be guiding in or are they more about how you ‘control’ groups etc.

  5. That’s amazing news Tanja – many congratulations! Totally fell in love with Croatia when I went for the first time last year – guess you will be the best person for us all to pick your brain about all things Croatia from now on!
