Life & blog update: September 2020... was quite an interesting month. We travelled! Without the kids. Just the two of us. A weekend break at a castle hotel. 🙂 I think you got the gist. I had grand plans for our anniversary weekend away but the worldwide pandemic meant that we couldn’t actually travel to my intended destination so I had to find something else. Then, our kids got sick so we had to postpone our weekend trip. The idea was to spend the weekend relaxing not sightseeing and the most important criteria was the hotel (FYI accommodation is never important to us on our travels). Luckily, I managed to find a castle hotel in Northern Croatia and in the end we did quite a bit of sightseeing (we’re definitely not the relaxing on the beach type of a couple). Do I need to say that our romantic weekend also included a dash through IKEA on the way back?:) 🙂 I know, I know, nothing spells romance as furniture browsing. I won’t say more about our weekend because I just might blog about it at some point in the future.
My sweet but very headstrong daughter L. celebrated her 1 birthday in September. We actually combined her birthday party with the Christening because we couldn’t have done the Christening earlier due to familiar circumstances aka previous lockdown. I think she enjoyed herself a lot at her birthday party. My daughter is walking! She’s walking while holding onto the furniture so I’m sure that she’ll take her first proper steps by Christmas. She’s also trying to eat by herself with a spoon (she can eat with her fingers). She saw chickens for the first time in her life.
My son started going to the Italian daycare ( long story short: my hometown was a part of Italy between 1924 and 1943. so Italian language is still present here). He’s also now in the older group so he hangs out with 6 year olds. He’s really keen on the new daycare and the new friends. However, because of the new restrictions regarding covid-19 kids can’t carry their teddy bears to the daycare so our son had to leave at home his Winnie Pooh teddy bear. We are all very proud of him for coping with that well.
How was your September? What did you do? Are you more of an Autumn or Summer type? I am now definitely a cooler weather type of person so I’m looking forward to crisp mornings and chilly evenings. And lots of tea;)
ps. Who else is looking forward to Christmas? I just hope they won’t cancel the Christmas markets.
