My 6 years of travel blogging

Happy 6 th birthday to my travel blog The Red Phone Box travels ! 🙂

I’ve been blogging for 6 years which is no small feat. Sometimes I blogged more, sometimes I blogged less but I’ve never made a longer pause than a month. I published 389 posts since I launched this travel blog. In total there are 204,699 words in my blog posts so far. Even though I am not completely satisfied with every single post that’s been published here I’m proud of the fact that I’ve kept this virtual travel diary alive over the past six years despite all the changes in my life. When I started blogging I was married but without children and had a freelance job. Now I have two small kids and a full time job. In the meantime the world we know changed for everyone. Who knows what the future holds in store for us? I do hope it includes travel too.

My first blog post a A TRUE LOVE LASTS A LIFETIME….THE STORY OF MY LONDON was published on 31 August 2015.

“There’s nowhere else like London. Nothing at all, anywhere.”

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD

I’ve started The Red Phone Box travels blog to write predominantly about my London trips and my other travels around Europe but later on I’ve begun to write about interesting places in my home country Croatia too. At some point I’ve decided to write monthly life update posts as a sort of online diary. There are some pregnancy and baby posts here because I wanted to share that part of my life as well. You can also find some photography posts. Of course, there are some other miscellaneous posts too and I usually write at least a couple of Christmas related post every December. Since we are a family now you can find posts about fun day trips in Croatia with the kids too. I’ve participated in different travel linkups and photo challenges hosted by other bloggers over the years. That’s the best way to meet other bloggers. And I have even made true friends through blogging.

Let’s have a look at some of my blog stats

Most popular blog posts so far: (by number of views)

Most of my readers come from these countries: the USA, the UK, India, Croatia, Canada, Australia. But I am very happy to say that my readers and followers come from all over the world.

Some search terms that brought visitors to my blog: Wagenburg the Imperial Carriage Museum photos, Field of Miracles Pisa, Bury St Edmunds , Rab island blog, visit to a chocolate factory, Rowan Atkinson Hampstead home ( I did bump into him but I don’t know his address), Villach Christmas Market, Sirmione Italy, Best free views in London…, How do you convince a child to not open the whole advent calendar, Which perfume factory should we visit when in Grasse if we want to make our own perfume, Finding the best Sacher tort in Vienna, Does Ferrari come from Ferrara etc. You see I blogged about various travel topics.

I want to continue blogging. My travel blog has changed since its beginnings but I still want to share my travel stories (and other things) with you. I am grateful for all your comments, remarks and likes. Your continuous support means a lot to me.

So, here’s to the next 6 years of blogging!

Cheers!

Thank You and I hope you continue to follow my blog

xoxo

  1. Congrats on 6 years of blogging! I think it is great that your blog keeps evolving with you, even if it’s a bit further away from the original purpose you had for it! I can’t wait to read about your adventures even more! 😊

  3. Congratulations on six years, Tanja! Change is inevitable and even if you had started out your blog with certain intentions (i.e. to write about London), chances are it’ll deviate from the original plan years down the line. This isn’t to say that it’s good or bad, but just the way it is. I just recently passed my five-year blogging mark, and I will say that my blog’s changed since the early days: better-quality writing and posts, especially! Keep on writing. 🙂

  4. Congratulations on six years of blogging! I always enjoy reading your blog and I particularly enjoy learning more about Croatia. This post has reminded me that I started blogging six years ago this month as well.
