Shhhh… I have a secret to share with you.. But what could it be? You already know that I eat a lot of chocolate and that I love cats. My obsession with London is self-evident too. I have written about myself a couple of times so what photo could I share with you that reveals something personal about me, yet unknown to my dear readers? 😉
This photo reveals a part of my past, a place where my life turned upside down..after that nothing was ever the same. And I wouldn’t be what I am now without my experience there.
Secrets is this Friday’s prompt from Snow for her Friendly Friday photo challenge co-hosted with Amanda.

my baby girl is 3 weeks old in this photo
Life and blog update: September 2019….was all about my baby girl 🙂 So, feel free to skip this post if you’d rather read about travel. My baby girl L. was born almost a month ago. I actually managed to write about her already. Yes, she’s fine. And I’m fine too, otherwise I wouldn’t be here. This second postpartum recovery went faster than the first. At least these first few weeks weren’t as difficult as the first time round. (However, I still look pregnant. This time I’d probably need to exercise to get rid of the baby bump). Also, it was so much easier to deal with a newborn. I guess experience counts for something after all. The only issue was/is our toddler. As expected the whole situation of mummy being away at the hospital and then coming back and devoting her time to another child was quite difficult for him at the beginning. He was both angry at me and jealous of his baby sister. Yet at the same time he was also sweet around her. I wish I could tell you that he’s completely accepted the new situation. But it takes time. I know he’ll be her best friend, soonish. 😉
at the beach
Life & blog update:August 2019 .…was another hot month. Too hot for a pregnant woman in her last few weeks of pregnancy. Who knows maybe my baby girl is already born at the time when you read this 🙂 My second pregnancy was pretty much the same as my first pregnancy. The only big exception is that I got varicose veins in my right leg and that I didn’t suffer from heartburn in the last trimester. However, it wasn’t easy at all to take care of an active toddler with an ever growing baby bump. I think my bump is bigger now but I’ve actually gained just a bit more weight. I’m looking forward to a baby girl, I imagine things will be different with her. But then again, maybe it’ll be the same as it was with her older brother. The thing I’m sure of is that the first few weeks after birth will be difficult because I’ll have to muster somehow enough energy to spend quality time with my boy and my newborn. Will my boy be jealous? Have you had two kids under two? Give me some advice😉
4 years ago I launched this travel blog The Red Phone Box Travels. I wanted to share my travel adventures with the world 😉I may not have travelled as much or as often as some other bloggers but I have loved everything about travel. My life has changed a lot in the past four years. After years of waiting for a baby I finally got pregnant in 2017 and gave birth to a healthy, beautiful boy. It was a challenge to continue blogging after becoming a mum. We have travelled with our son so far and this year we went to Berlin without him, our first trip alone after becoming parents. But our family is growing again. Our baby girl is due very, very soon. To blog and to travel with two children will surely be even more challenging. I don’t know yet if I’ll take a short or a long break from blogging or just write infrequently. Time will tell!
a day trip to Dvigrad ruins
Life and blog update: July 2019….was a very hot month. It’s not easy to endure a heatwave when pregnant 8 and a half months! I spent some time at the beach chasing after my 20 months old boy. We attended a medieval festival in Istria which was lots of fun (link below).
What else happened in July? We went to see our friends’ new kitten. Oh, I forgot how tiny kittens are. Our 6 year old cat is quite big;)
beautiful tiles on the houses in Lisbon
You said tiles? Tiles immediately remind me of our honeymoon in Portugal five years ago :). We spent a wonderful week in Lisbon and explored the surrounding area as well. We have even visited the National Tile Museum to admire some very colourful Portuguese tiles.
We visited this beautiful castle in Karlovac, Croatia at the beginning of June
Life and blog update: June 2019…. was a month of local travel &adventures 🙂 We finally went on a proper day trip with our boy after a long time. We visited beautiful Dubovac Castle and had lunch with friends. Surprise, surprise I already blogged about it.
I’ve met up with an old friend. We were best friends growing up but then we drifted away and recently we’ve gotten in touch again. She’s got a baby girl so she handed me down all her small clothes for my baby girl. Is it customary in your part of the world to get used baby clothes from friends&family, from older kids? It’s quite common (and useful) here.
