When traveling, the first thing you think about is where to stay. Unfortunately, finding the right accommodation for your trip can be challenging, especially if you are looking for flexibility.

Short-term rentals are becoming incredibly popular, and it’s easy to see why. If you are in between moves, renovating your house, or traveling for business, they are a great option to consider.

Interested in learning more? Below we are going to discuss five reasons why you should stay in a short-term rental.

Personalized Experience

One of the best things about short-term rentals is that they provide a more personalized and unique experience. You can choose a property in the location you want, based on your individual needs.

For instance, you can stay in luxury apartments when visiting toronto that will give you access to the best spots in the city. There are also cozy homes nestled in residential areas if you’re looking for a quiet and peaceful experience.

In short, there is something for everyone!

Affordability

In most cases, short-term rentals can be a very affordable accommodation option. If you’re looking to stay somewhere for an extended period of time, the cost is significantly reduced each night.

But that’s not the only way they save you cash. Most properties also come with a kitchen so that you can cook your own meals instead of eating out. This is wonderful for families that are traveling with children.

Privacy and Space

Another advantage to keep in mind is that short-term rentals come with additional privacy and space. From balconies and terraces to gardens and even pools – each unique layout gives you space to relax and unwind.

You have the entire area to yourself, don’t have to worry about noisy neighbors, and can make use of each and every room. Again, this is even more beneficial if you have additional house guests such as family and friends.

Flexibility and Convenience

As we mentioned above, this accommodation type comes with great flexibility and convenience. You can adjust your itinerary as needed and most of the basic necessities are provided for you.

Depending on where you are staying, most places also have no curfew policy. You can come and go as you please, provided you are still respectful of those around you.

Local Benefit

Because most short-term rentals are in residential neighborhoods, you can take full advantage of local hidden gems. You can attend nearby events, festivals, and markets for an authentic experience.

Not only does this save you money in the long run, but you’ll get to see things that you may not have even known about. They provide the ideal opportunity to get to know the community around you.

Final Words

As you can see from the above, there are so many reasons why you should consider staying in a short-term rental. Whether you’re looking to immerse yourself in local culture or simply enjoy relaxing in a more private environment – it’s worth looking into them further.

  1. I agree with all your reasons Tanja. The only downside I have felt with apartment rentals is that if there are issues they are hard to get resolved. There’s a bit of pot luck choosing an apartment and you can have great hosts or poor hosts. But if you want space and like to spread yourself out they can be fantastic in the right city. In an expensive city they can be more expensive than hotels these days there’s been a real shift in pricing. great post Tanja!

  2. My husband and I enjoyed our short-term rental on Rue Amélie in Paris several years ago. A fabulous bakery was just steps from our door, a great café for our morning coffee was just across the street, and we could walk to many points of interest. The kitchen was adequate and allowed us to enjoy many dinners in the apartment, which went well most of the time, except for the one evening my husband complained that the Roquefort cheese I had selected for our appetizer reeked like the Paris Métro!

  3. We really like using short term rentals when we travel places. We got a place last time we went home to Utah and it was so nice to have somewhere where people could come and visit us comfortably but it still offered us our own space. Great post on the considerations for this! 🙂
