Hi!

I’m Tanja, a Croatian travel blogger, London lover, European explorer and unapologetic chocoholic.

I started this blog in 2015 as a place to collect my travel stories, memories and discoveries. I love historic places, beautiful architecture, charming streets, museums, good food, city walks and destinations with a story to tell. I also love returning to places I’ve already visited. There is something special about seeing a familiar city with fresh eyes and discovering that there is always something you missed the first time.

I’m also a mum, and these days some of my favourite travel memories are the ones we make as a family. Travelling with children has changed the way I explore places and it has given me a whole new perspective on travel.

When I’m not travelling or planning our next adventures you can find me curled up with a book or watching a Christmas movie.

Why the Red Phone Box as the name for my travel blog?

There is one city that has had a particularly big place in my heart for a very long time: London. I fell in love with London before I had even visited it. When I finally made my first trip there in 2006, the reality somehow lived up to all the expectations I had built up in my head. Since then, I’ve returned again and again, discovering different neighbourhoods, favourite places, familiar streets and new corners of the city.

The classic red telephone box seemed like the perfect symbol for that love and eventually it became the inspiration for the name of this blog.

What will you find here?

London will always have a special place here, but my travels have taken me far beyond the red buses and telephone boxes.

London

My favourite city. You’ll find London travel guides, ideas for things to see and do, neighbourhoods to explore, beautiful places, food and plenty of reasons to return to the city. Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, I hope you’ll find something here that makes you want to explore London a little differently.

Croatia

I’m Croatian, so naturally I love discovering my own country too.

From the Adriatic coast and islands to historic towns, castles, cities and lesser-known places, I love finding beautiful corners of Croatia and sharing them with you.

Europe

A big part of this blog is simply about exploring Europe. You’ll find here your inspiration for city breaks, weekend escapes and road trips. You can discover charming towns, historic places and beautiful landscapes with me.

Life

There’s more than just travel posts on my blog. You can read all about our small and big life events in my life & blog update posts. Also, I love to share my special Christmas tree travel ornaments with you and you can also see my beautiful mugs from different Christmas markets. I’ve also written a few posts about my pregnancies and about my two kids.
