Monthly Blog Overview: April 2017

Finding the Easter bunny in Opatija….

April. After almost a month of procrastinating and studying and feeling very much out of sorts I’ve finally did it! I passed all 8 exams in 3 days and had a great presentation. I got my certificate and now I need to put in my papers for my new licence. What is it? I’m…taadaaa… A TOURIST GUIDE FOR CROATIA! 🙂 It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a long time and finally decided to give it a try. I do have a lot of experience in tourism already so this won’t be something completely new for me. There are different rules for tourist guides in different countries. In Croatia, you have to have a licence for each region, so I got a licence for two regions. For example, I can take a group of tourists to Dubrovnik and tell them all about different places while we’re on the bus but once we actually get to Dubrovnik I’d need to hire a local tourist guide who has the licence for Dubrovnik. Now, I have a licence for Primorsko-goranska county which includes places such as Rab island ( check this post) and Opatija and many other gorgeous seaside towns and islands and some lovely countryside places too. I’ve also got a licence for Plitvice Lakes ( Ličko-senjska county) 🙂 . So that’s my big news. Actually, there’s another major news but you’ll have to wait a bit longer for that one. I’m loving all the suspense 🙂

Monthly Blog Overview: March 2017

I published a photo post about Antibes, France in March

March. On the one hand it was probably the most boring month I’ve had lately. I mostly stayed at home and studied for the exams for my new licence. I saw the musical Mamma mia! which was fun. My hubby and I ate out a lot actually and tried out some new places. My best friend’s baby turned 1 in March! 🙂 I’m a proud auntie. On the other hand, something very exciting is going on all the time but I still can’t tell you anything about it. Maybe you’ve noticed that I haven’t posted as much as I used to. Well, there are more important things in life than blogging, sorry guys. Anyway, wish me luck with my exams this week! And I’m looking forward to all the Easter food! How was your March?

Monthly Blog Overview: February 2017

February. A lot has happened in the shortest month of the year. But I can’t tell you anything just yet. 🙂 Anyway, I finished my course. Now I have to study a lot since I have to pass 9 exams in April. But then I’ll get my new licence. What is it? I’ll tell you in April. Also, I had to postpone my trip to Munich because of the exams so hopefully we’ll manage to go to Germany in May instead of late March. I didn’t blog much because I didn’t have a lot of free time. To be perfectly honest, I also kind of lost my motivation for blogging. However, I opened Instagram account for this blog!:) Yay! And I’m totally hooked already. Have you seen my post on postcards exchange? Would you like to get involved? If you want to send & receive pretty postcards get in touch with me via email at trpbtravels@yahoo.com.

How was your February?

Monthly Blog Overview: January 2017

I wrote about Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk last month

January. I’m not one of those people who make some special new year’s resolution and then forget all about it by the end of January. But I’d like to feel/be more optimistic this year. I used to be so happy-go-lucky when I was younger. I don’t know why I became so cynical and even bitter and afraid of trying out new things. However, I did start this blog a year and a half ago (almost). Moreover, I enrolled at a course two weeks ago and I’ve already started attending the lectures. I won’t tell you just yet what it is but it’s definitely related to travel 🙂 And I’ve cut my hair! It’s again as short as it was when I went to Brussels two years ago. So, actually a lot of changes in January. Also, I’ve booked a hotel in Munich, Germany but I’m not so sure that we’ll actually go there at the end of March. Somehow I lost my travel mojo 😦 . Thus, I’m not sure if there’s a point in travelling at all if I feel like that. Hopefully I’ll change my mind by March. I mean, I’ve been thinking about visiting Munich for so long….

I probably won’t have a lot of time for blogging during February but I’ll see how I’ll manage. Thanks for sticking around 🙂 So, in case you missed them:

Advent Wreath in Opatija

December. To be honest I felt more festive in November than in December. I mean, I attended two lovely Christmas events at the last weekend of November and I visited a chocolate festival in Opatija at the first weekend of December. But then I had another business trip and some other unpleasant obligations and my 33rd birthday. I so wasn’t looking forward to that! I felt like I didn’t accomplish much in the past year but in the end I had three lovely birthday meals so it wasn’t that bad after all. 🙂 Christmas was spent with family and I have so many sweets in my cupboard right now. I hope you had peaceful and joyful holidays too! I’m looking forward to 2017. I think I deserve some happy news finally!

Monthly Blog Overview: November 2016

I wrote about Christmas markets in Villach & Velden, Austria

November. Actually November is one of my least favourite months. Somehow this November wasn’t that bad despite the almost non-stop rain which lasted for around 10 days straight! Also, I didn’t travel anywhere and I didn’t get any good news. But I am felling all right, I guess. Even kind of optimistic:) I think I need to thank my early Christmas shopping this year for making me feel better ( I know retail therapy sounds so clichéd but I am so happy with my new Christmas jumper). Going to two Christmas season opening events this last weekend in November (which is the first Advent weekend) cheered me up a lot too. I mean you can’t feel down after drinking whiskey hot chocolate and mulled wine, right?;) I’m so looking forward to December. I’ll be quite busy actually so I might not post as much as I did this month ( 12 posts). And it’s my birthday soon too! I’ll be 33. Oh, I’m so old…:)

Monthly Blog Overview: October 2016

October. And suddenly Autumn came. I can’t believe it’s only two months till the end of the year. It’s still 2015 in my head. I can’t cope with 2017 coming so soon 🙂 I feel like I spent the entire year dealing with various family health issues. On a brighter note, I recently spent a few days in Florence on a business trip. Since I had some free time I went for a walk and discovered a small botanical garden. That was a rather pleasurable discovery. Also, I finally did some hiking again after a long time and I’ve decided to share a few photos from that autumnal walk with you. I’m not looking forward to November. In my book that’s one of the dreariest months of the year. But then comes December and my birthday and Christmas 🙂 I do love Christmas markets! So how was your October?
