My 4 years of travel blogging

4 years ago I launched this travel blog The Red Phone Box Travels. I wanted to share my travel adventures with the world 😉I may not have travelled as much or as often as some other bloggers but I have loved everything about travel. My life has changed a lot in the past four years. After years of waiting for a baby I finally got pregnant in 2017 and gave birth to a healthy, beautiful boy. It was a challenge to continue blogging after becoming a mum. We have travelled with our son so far and this year we went to Berlin without him, our first trip alone after becoming parents. But our family is growing again. Our baby girl is due very, very soon. To blog and to travel with two children will surely be even more challenging. I don’t know yet if I’ll take a short or a long break from blogging or just write infrequently. Time will tell!

Life and blog update: July 2019

Dvigrad, Istria, Croatia

a day trip to Dvigrad ruins

Life and blog update: July 2019….was a very hot month. It’s not easy to endure a heatwave when pregnant 8 and a half months! I spent some time at the beach chasing after my 20 months old boy. We attended a medieval festival in Istria which was lots of fun (link below).

What else happened in July? We went to see our friends’ new kitten. Oh, I forgot how tiny kittens are. Our 6 year old cat is quite big;)

Life and blog update: June 2019

Dubovac Castle, Croatia

We visited this beautiful castle in Karlovac, Croatia at the beginning of June

Life and blog update: June 2019…. was a month of local travel &adventures 🙂 We finally went on a proper day trip with our boy after a long time. We visited beautiful Dubovac Castle and had lunch with friends. Surprise, surprise I already blogged about it.

I’ve met up with an old friend. We were best friends growing up but then we drifted away and recently we’ve gotten in touch again. She’s got a baby girl so she handed me down all her small clothes for my baby girl. Is it customary in your part of the world to get used baby clothes from friends&family, from older kids? It’s quite common (and useful) here.

Life and blog update: May 2019

a beach on island Krk, Croatia

Life & blog update : May…was a kind of an ups&downs month…from birthday celebrations to a funeral and a wedding. But that’s life!

I blogged about our weekend trip to Berlin in April. It was really a great trip and just what we needed before our baby girl arrives at the beginning of September. I hope to blog about our last year’s trip to San Marino with our boy (I posted only two photo posts , I didn’t write about sights).

Life and blog update: April 2019

Alexander platz, Berlin

Alexander platz in Berlin, Germany

Life & blog update : April.. was an exciting month for sure. My husband and I visited Berlin for a weekend. It was our first trip without our toddler. We’ve had lots of fun and we’ll definitely be back for some more exploration of Berlin. Hope to blog soon about our weekend but for now you can check my photo post of Berlin (link below ).

Last month we’ve also found out that our second baby is a girl! So exciting!!:) I’m still feeling quite all right, no major pregnancy problems apart from my growing baby bump and the lack of choice in my wardrobe. And I’m starting to get excited about all the pink, glittery girly clothes 😉

Life and blog update: March 2019

Life and blog update: March… was the month we got back home after our short exile due to our bathroom renovation. Now we have a pretty bathroom and an empty bank account 🙂 I’ve finally made our travel plans too. The idea was to visit Krakow but I was reluctant to book the flight and the hotel because of several reasons. I didn’t like the idea of a long drive to the airport plus the flight times meant that we’d be away from our son for 5 full days which just seemed too long for the first time. I’ve been away for work several times already, usually for 2-4 days and my husband’s been away too and our toddler was fine but this would be his first time without both of us for a few days. So, that’s why despite my big wish to visit Krakow I decided to abandon that idea (for now) and try to find a better solution.

Et voilà, I came across extremely cheap flights for Berlin from a nearer airport. I was very happy with our change of travel plans because we’d still be going somewhere alone but for a shorter time which is really more convenient in a given situation. So, we’re leaving our boy with the grandparents and we’re off to Berlin this weekend for that last adventure before the second baby arrives. Last time I had a very relaxing babymoon but this time it’s going to be a short city break 🙂

Life & blog update:February 2019

Children’s Carnival Parade in Rijeka, Croatia

Life and blog update February 2019..And just like that another month has passed by. We spent most of the month at my husband’s parents because we had our bathroom completely renovated. It reminds me of a contemporary hotel bathroom now because we’ve put in a walk-in shower 🙂

Since we could leave our boy at the grandparent’s we had a pizza date night for Valentine’s Day, met up with some friends twice and we went to the cinema one weekend too.
