Monthly Blog Overview: June 2017

June. It was a rather busy month actually. All the weekends were jam-packed with different activities. There were birthday celebrations, local cultural events and the (re)discovering of my region’s rich history and of course some beach time! Yay!:) First beach time ever with a baby bump! And we found out we’re expecting a baby boy in case you missed this post🙂 We’ve started to sort out the baby’s room too and I received some very cute baby clothes from friends. There’s no tradition of baby shower as such here but once the baby is born all the family & friends usually bring a gift when they first meet the baby (after a month or so). Also, I’ve met my high school friends for our 15th year reunion! Oh gosh! Suddenly I feel very old 🙂

I received a lot of proposals for my guest post invitation so at the moment I can’t accept any new ones. All the guest posts will be published during the summer.

Monthly Blog Overview: May 2017

had a lot of fun on my day trip to Trieste, Italy with my best friend

May. So we didn’t go to Munich, Germany last month. I explained why here and shared with you my big happy news of being pregnant! 🙂 However, I did manage a rather tasty day trip to Trieste, Italy with my best friend ( blogged about it too). What else did I do in May? Attended a few birthdays, played some board games as usually, went on walks, etc. My hometown’s football team won the national championship finally so there was a huge party in the town 🙂 and they’ve won the coup as well so they have two trophies now!

On another note, my mum had a heart surgery. She’s recovering now in hospital. She’s a tough cookie, so I now she’ll be okay, especially after all she’s been through last year.

Also, my heart goes out to all the victims & their families of the recent terrorist attacks in Manchester and London and in other places around the world.

What’s your news? How did you spend May? Any summer plans?

Monthly Blog Overview: April 2017

Finding the Easter bunny in Opatija….

April. After almost a month of procrastinating and studying and feeling very much out of sorts I’ve finally did it! I passed all 8 exams in 3 days and had a great presentation. I got my certificate and now I need to put in my papers for my new licence. What is it? I’m…taadaaa… A TOURIST GUIDE FOR CROATIA! 🙂 It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a long time and finally decided to give it a try. I do have a lot of experience in tourism already so this won’t be something completely new for me. There are different rules for tourist guides in different countries. In Croatia, you have to have a licence for each region, so I got a licence for two regions. For example, I can take a group of tourists to Dubrovnik and tell them all about different places while we’re on the bus but once we actually get to Dubrovnik I’d need to hire a local tourist guide who has the licence for Dubrovnik. Now, I have a licence for Primorsko-goranska county which includes places such as Rab island ( check this post) and Opatija and many other gorgeous seaside towns and islands and some lovely countryside places too. I’ve also got a licence for Plitvice Lakes ( Ličko-senjska county) 🙂 . So that’s my big news. Actually, there’s another major news but you’ll have to wait a bit longer for that one. I’m loving all the suspense 🙂

Monthly Blog Overview: March 2017

I published a photo post about Antibes, France in March

March. On the one hand it was probably the most boring month I’ve had lately. I mostly stayed at home and studied for the exams for my new licence. I saw the musical Mamma mia! which was fun. My hubby and I ate out a lot actually and tried out some new places. My best friend’s baby turned 1 in March! 🙂 I’m a proud auntie. On the other hand, something very exciting is going on all the time but I still can’t tell you anything about it. Maybe you’ve noticed that I haven’t posted as much as I used to. Well, there are more important things in life than blogging, sorry guys. Anyway, wish me luck with my exams this week! And I’m looking forward to all the Easter food! How was your March?

Monthly Blog Overview: February 2017

February. A lot has happened in the shortest month of the year. But I can’t tell you anything just yet. 🙂 Anyway, I finished my course. Now I have to study a lot since I have to pass 9 exams in April. But then I’ll get my new licence. What is it? I’ll tell you in April. Also, I had to postpone my trip to Munich because of the exams so hopefully we’ll manage to go to Germany in May instead of late March. I didn’t blog much because I didn’t have a lot of free time. To be perfectly honest, I also kind of lost my motivation for blogging. However, I opened Instagram account for this blog!:) Yay! And I’m totally hooked already. Have you seen my post on postcards exchange? Would you like to get involved? If you want to send & receive pretty postcards get in touch with me via email at trpbtravels@yahoo.com.

How was your February?

Monthly Blog Overview: January 2017

I wrote about Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk last month

January. I’m not one of those people who make some special new year’s resolution and then forget all about it by the end of January. But I’d like to feel/be more optimistic this year. I used to be so happy-go-lucky when I was younger. I don’t know why I became so cynical and even bitter and afraid of trying out new things. However, I did start this blog a year and a half ago (almost). Moreover, I enrolled at a course two weeks ago and I’ve already started attending the lectures. I won’t tell you just yet what it is but it’s definitely related to travel 🙂 And I’ve cut my hair! It’s again as short as it was when I went to Brussels two years ago. So, actually a lot of changes in January. Also, I’ve booked a hotel in Munich, Germany but I’m not so sure that we’ll actually go there at the end of March. Somehow I lost my travel mojo 😦 . Thus, I’m not sure if there’s a point in travelling at all if I feel like that. Hopefully I’ll change my mind by March. I mean, I’ve been thinking about visiting Munich for so long….

I probably won’t have a lot of time for blogging during February but I’ll see how I’ll manage. Thanks for sticking around 🙂 So, in case you missed them:

Who would have thought that I would write constantly for almost a year and a half? I certainly didn’t think so when I hit publish for the first time back in 2015. And here I am now, 132 posts later,  looking back at 2016 on my blog. Firstly, I’d like to thank all my readers and followers! 🙂 Your support means a lot to me, especially since only a handful of my friends know about my travel blog. I don’t have a lot of travel plans for 2017 actually. My first and foremost travel goal is to finally visit Munich, Germany. But I’ll wait for a month or so until I make any real travel arrangements. After that, if I find a good deal, a cheap flight or if I suddenly want to visit badly some place, I’ll go. If not, I’ll stay at home. Travel isn’t everything! That’s one lesson I learnt the hard way in 2016. Anyway, I still haven’t written about all of my travels from 2016 (and earlier) and I want to continue to write my blog series Discover Croatia. So, there’ll be plenty of new posts in 2017! 🙂
