Life & blog update: May 2025 was a great month full of work trips. I spent a few days in Italy (Florence) at the beginning of the month and I spent a few days in Vienna at the end of the month. It felt great to be back in those cities after so many years. It was quite hot in both cities and I saw gorgeous roses in bloom in Boboli gardens in Florence and in Volksgarten in Vienna. Apparently May is a month of roses.
May was also a month of football. I mentioned previously how my son practices football and that he was able to go out at the pitch with the players at the beginning of the match several times. Well, our hometown team won the championship this year! And then also the coup trophy. As it happened, my son came out to the pitch with the players, with other kids from his team, and then we watched our hometown team win the match. Coincidentally, our hometown team won the championship when I was pregnant and now 7 years later my son was at the beginning of the match and they won again! It was euphoria at the stadium, practically all spectators came down running to the pitch. I said jokingly to my son, in ten years time, you’ll be holding that trophy! Who knows!
We spent mother’s day on island Krk. It was nice weather and kids enjoyed being outdoors. We’ve also had a couple of board game nights and kids had a few play dates. May was also a bit stressful because we had some work done at home. We painted the kid’s room and our bedroom and then we had workers put in new floors in those rooms. I think that we’re finally done with renovations in our house. We just need to get some new wardrobes and minor bits and bobs and that’s it.
I was so mesmerized by those roses in Boboli garden in Florence that I immediately blogged about it. Usually, it takes me a bit of time and some inspiration to put into words my travel adventures and impressions despite loving the place I’ve visited.

May is a very pretty month, that picture of the Volksgarten is beautiful. May and June is all about exploring Northern Ireland for me, as we move back to England in the summer. Busy, happy days.
