Grožnjan is a picturesque village located in the Istria region of Croatia. Like many other rural Istrian towns, Grožnjan is also perched atop a hill that offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside and vineyards. Known for its quaint charm and medieval architecture, Grožnjan has been dubbed the “Town of Arts and Music” due to its vibrant artistic community and many music festivals. The village is home to numerous galleries, studios, and workshops that showcase the work of local artists.
In addition to its artistic allure, Grožnjan is surrounded by lush landscapes, making it a great spot for hiking and cycling. You can wander around Grožnjan’s cobblestone streets and taste local wine and truffles in one of its many shops. You can even buy some art and take photos of Grožnjan’s landmarks.

We visited Grožnjan in June 2025.
I’m sharing this post with Dan’s Thursday doors challenge too.

Such a wonderful, quiet, peaceful place. I lived for 2 months in a village nearby, few years ago, and it was where I had my first ever white truffle. So many great (and delicious) memories in Istria!
