I’ve been very lucky to have visited Tuscany many, many times. I’ve explored thoroughly Florence and Siena. I’ve walked around Lucca and marvelled at the Leaning Tower in Pisa. I’ve tasted the most delicious olive-oil and wine; ate a lot of excellent pizza and pasta dishes and had numerous ice-creams 🙂 I saw Tuscany’s countryside too and visited hilltop towns Montepulciano and Montalcino and San Gimignano. I spent a couple of lovely hours in Pienza and soaked my tired travelling feet in the thermal water of Bagno Vignoni. This region is truly as beautiful as in the paintings.
Let me take you on a photo tour of one of the most beautiful regions in the world:

Have you been to Tuscany?

I love Florence, and Italy in general. I would most definitely like to return. Perhaps staying in the Tuscan hills… sorry I’ll stop day dreaming! Thanks for linking up with #MondayEscapes

In Florence right now! My first trip and is indeed very beautiful! Yesterday we took a lovely day trip to Siena, and tomorrow we are heading to Pisa. I am very excited! Any suggestions would be lovely 🙂

Lucca is right close to Pisa, why don’t you go there too?:)

Gorgeous photos, Tanja. I love Tuscany too. I spent one memorable (for some of the wrong reasons) week cycling from hill town to hill town in Southern Tuscany. Oh my goodness, those hills are steep! The food was amazing though. I remember Pienza being particularly beautiful.

I visited Tuscany for the first time this year and I fell in love with it. I loved Florence a lot. I think they have the best shopping in Italy (even better than Rome).

I love that movie! I even got the book but the movie and the book have almost nothing in common:)

I’ve been to Florence twice but both times, I only stayed for 2 full days. I agree, it’s absolutely lovely and deserves to be explored in depth. Hopefully next time I go to this region, a longer stay is possible.

This is so great! I would love to know Tuscany like you do. That picture saying that humans are only accepted if accompanied cats is very cute.

Wonderful photos of Siena, I’ve heard many people rave about that area. Your photos of Florence and Pisa took me back to the times I visited several years ago. Italy is a beautiful country and your photos perfectly showcase it!

I loved Tuscany but I’ve only been to Florence and Pisa in that region – you’ve certainly given me wanderlust to see the rest!

I’ve been to Tuscany and agree with your comments. I’ve done the some of the same things but not the Tower of Pisa, Lucca and San Gimignano. I would particularly like to see those last two one day. Loved the tour!

We visited Pisa and Florence in October ’14 and it was amazing. The weather was still warm and sunny and there were not so many people there anymore. Tuscany is lovely!

I’ve always wanted to visit Florence, but I have the feeling that it might just disappoint up close. Maybe this year… it’s always on my list. 🙂 Pretty sure that Lucca wouldn’t!
Sorry about the health issues. Grand plans are one thing, but it has to fit well with the family stuff, doesn’t it? Best wishes for 2016!

Well, if you can stand the crowds then you won’t be disappointed. But choose wisely when to visit:)
