Life & blog update: November 2023

Rijeka, Croatia

Life & blog update: November 2023… was a semi-relaxing month. I was at home and I made a long to do list but I haven’t ticked off as many items as I’d hoped which made me feel down by the end of the month. I spent too much time scrolling mindlessly on my phone, I watched a couple of Netflix films and I played a lot of board games and just like that November was over. However, I had slow mornings since I didn’t have to rush to work and that was quite enjoyable. I even read a book in only two days!

My son celebrated his 6 th birthday. We had a family birthday party and then he had a playroom birthday with his friends too. He got so many toys and sweets that I could have opened a sweets shop (maybe that is my next career move?). He is so big now! Honestly, I already forgot how he looked and behaved when he was a baby. He’s still very keen on football and we are contemplating his school options currently. We also took a couple of seaside walks and had lots of playdates for kids.

I had another fun birthday, my best friend’s 40 th birthday. Like last year, we went clubbing! My best friends and I danced the night away. But when you are practically 40 and not 24 or 34, staying up until 4 AM means that you’ll need at least a couple of days to feel functional again.

For a change, it felt good to be able to focus on my blog, to have the luxury of time to do what I want. I had all posts for November done by the end of the second week of the month and even completed some posts for later. Also, blog stats soared last month and I’ve already surpassed last year’s stats in number of views/visitors and it’s not the end of the year yet. The last guest post was published in November as well. Thank you Usha for a wonderful post about a small, Scottish island. Please check out her guest post and her blog if you haven’t done it yet. As I have stated in my invitation, there were four spots available for guest posts and I published all of them so far.

How was your November?

Any plans for visiting Christmas markets or doing some other festive activities during December?

Happy December!

  1. I absolutely understand that feeling of having so much to do but finding myself mindlessly scrolling instead and then feeling a little down about not getting enough done. I have to remind myself about what really matters and sometimes you just need a little mindlessness in your own space. Wishing you and yours a joyous and restive holiday season 🙂

  2. Your month sounds fun! We can never check off all the stuff we want to do, and I try to realize that it just doesn’t matter. I’m actually going to a Christmas market or two in NYC next week, and even though I’m sure they won’t be a good as the ones across the Atlantic, I’m still hopeful@

  3. Sounds like you HAVE been doing lots of stuff, not just staring at your phone 😛 But I know what you mean, phone-staring really sucks you in. I can’t remember the last time I danced the night away at a nightclub. Surely before I met hubby (since my previous employer didn’t even have Xmas parties). Must’ve been 15 years ago!

  4. Sounds like a chill November! I agree; the month went by fast! I enjoy clubbing, but these days, I don’t do it much anymore and would prefer to be in bed by 22h00! Enjoy your December, and happy holidays!
