Life & blog update: February 2024…was a mixed feelings kind of a month. At one point I felt very low. Kids were sick for weeks. Furthermore, I had an eye infection too and I didn’t hear back from a prospective employer after an interview where I got the impression that the job was already mine. All I wanted to do was to curl up like my cat and sleep but I couldn’t do that because of insomnia. I don’t know if it’s my age, hormones or what but I sleep poorly and occasionally I have these horrible periods of insomnia. Never mind that, towards the end of the month things started to pick up and get better.
As you know my son plays football. He’s been practicing it for years already. At the beginning of the month my son and his teammates were holding hands with the footballers at the beginning of the actual football match of our first league. He was beyond happy. That game ended with our team’s victory. My kids had lots of fun at a costumed dance during the carnival season. Later they got sick and missed out on the other carnival events.
Unlike in January, this month I didn’t read or blog much. However, my husband and I went to an English stand up night and it was great. I laughed my socks off! One of the comedians was Cody Brown who’s the author of a very funny book about his life in Croatia.
As usually, we had a couple of board game nights with friends too. I watched the entire One day series on Netflix in only three days. I still prefer the original movie (and book!). I watched Lassie 2 film with kids at the cinema too.
By the end of the month I got some great news! I had another job interview and this time I got the job! I’ll start in mid March. I’m very excited about it. It’s something different from what I did previously (again!). Also, we’ve booked a spa holiday in Slovenia. We’re going there before my new job starts. Kids are thrilled about it and they are looking forward to water slides and other fun activities for the kids.
How was your February? Any exciting plans for March?

I think I’m a little late to this as I know you’ve started your new job already. Congrats! I hope it’s going well.
Insomnia is a nightmare. I too battle with it. No advice to give other than let your doctor know!

Congratulations on the new job! Job hunting and interviewing are a pain, but getting that position is worth it in the end. Similarly, my February was kind of a blah month, as I experienced lots of work and personal stress. Glad it’s March now, and I look forward to happier (and warmer) months from here on out!

I can’t believe that today is the 1st of March. I am happy to say goodbye to February which I find to be such an awkward, unpopular month. I hope your eye infection has cleared up, and I’m sorry to hear about your job interview. Despite not being a fan of romantic movies, I just started watching One Day simply because parts of it were filmed in Edinburgh. I haven’t read David Nicholls’ novel, so I can’t say if I prefer the book to the TV series. Cheers, Aiva xx

When I visited Edinburgh a long time ago I wanted to climb Arthur’s seat because of the movie. But we couldn’t do it due to poor weather. My eye is all right now. Have a great weekend xoxo

Just finished watching it yesterday. The ending completely shattered me and made me weep – I wasn’t prepared for Emma to die in a road collision while riding her bike! Congratulations on your new job xx
