Life & blog update: March 2024…was a very interesting month. After somewhat quiet February, March was full of action and new beginnings as spring should be. There were the usual playdates for kids and family board game nights and a couple of dates with friends.
One of the highlights of the month was our family trip to Čatež Thermal Riviera (Slovenia). We stayed at a spa hotel and took full advantage of their indoor thermal pools and water slides. Kids loved it! We couldn’t get them out of the swimming pools. The food was delicious as well and the weather was sunny and warm. But we didn’t actually spend much time outside the pools. On our way back home we stopped off at a nearby castle which I saw from our car. It’s actually a castle hotel (Mokrice) but it was closed. We walked around it and took some photos. This family holiday fully recharged my batteries and I was very happy that we managed to do it just a couple of days before my new job.
The second highlight of the month was starting my new job. It’s something I haven’t done previously. So far my new job role has been very dynamic and interesting. I’m still learning the ropes and of course the daily commute is a bit tiring. After all, I spent the last four and a half months at home so it takes some time to get accustomed again to a balancing act of work/kids/chores situation.
My daughter enrolled in gymnastics. She did dance classes back in autumn but decided to drop out. We’ll see how long her enthusiasm lasts this time. After all, she is only four and a half and I dont want to pressure her into any activity. I registered my son for school. I can’t believe he’s already old enough for school.

Sounds like it was a fun March spent in Slovenia with the family! Congratulations on the new job; I hope you find it rewarding and challenging for your career’s growth. My March was quite busy taking care of a few long-needed errands and going on a birthday trip with my partner! We’ll see what April has in store for us, but hopefully warmer and more-lovely spring weather!
