Life & blog update: September 2024

My kids

Life & blog update: September 2024 was a month full of birthdays. Our kids were invited to a lot of children’s’ birthday parties. Of course, the most important birthday in September was our daughter’s 5th birthday! She had several birthday celebrations and she received a lot of beautiful gifts. My daughter is the most kind-hearted person I’ve ever met. She’s also very smart and quick and headstrong. She’s very devoted to her older brother who would still rather be an only child if you ask him.

Speaking of my strong-willed son, he has started school in September. My son is a proud pupil of 1st grade in an Italian elementary school. So far, all’s good. He seems to have settled well in his new role and he enjoys being at school. I can’t believe my kids are so big already. I already forgot a lot of their sweet baby moments. Honestly, I’m not ready for their teenage years. Parenting is hard as it is without throwing in their hormonal changes.

We said goodbye to summer with one last beach day at the beginning of the month. Other than that, we didn’t do much in September apart from attending all those birthday parties. Life was basically just work/home and repeat. Also, I was sick for a few days later in the month and staying at home just showed me how tired I was and how much I need a proper holiday.

What are your plans for this autumn? I’d like us to go on a trip with kids but we’ll see. Everything is more expensive this year and we have to put in new floors in kid’s room as well.

Happy October!

  2. I’ve just survived two more sets of teenage years; honestly, it does get a little wild but also the changes in the relationship you have with them are awesome. My twin girls are at uni now, just one boy left at home. It’s very quiet.

Hope you get the rest you need and the trip you are hoping for!

  3. If you’re going to a birthday shindig, I hope it is worth showin’ up to. And if you’re gonna bring a present, might as well wrap it up proper or don’t bother at all.

  4. Happy belated birthday to your daughter! Kids really grow up fast, huh? I’m currently taking a nice trip somewhere in the world, and I hope for a swift rest of the month with work when I return! Have a good rest of October!
