2024 on the Red Phone Box travels is a short overview post of my blog’s highlights last year. Unlike in 2023, we didn’t travel much in 2024. The main reason for that was my career change and a new work schedule. However, we did manage to take two long weekend breaks with our kids (spa holidays to Slovenia and northern Croatia) and we also went on a wonderful festive trip to Budapest at the end of the year. Besides that, we had several local day trips.
2024 was a challenging year for us in more than one way. I got a new job, my kids had to get used to my new work schedule, my son started school, my husband published his first board game and many other things. You can read all about my year in short in my 12 months & 12 photos post or read my monthly life posts for every month of the past year if you have missed something. I don’t like to dwell on negative things in my life in this space since this is still primarily a travel blog even though I rarely post instantly about my travels. It usually takes me a few months or even a year or two to properly blog about some of our trips.
2024 was a great year for my blog. I’ve been blogging for more than nine years. Last year I finally surpassed my previous best year in terms of numbers of views/visitors. Since 2017 my stats slowly declined and then plummeted down in 2020. After that, my stats increased steadily every year and finally reached peak numbers last year. It seems that this increase in stats is due to my old posts not my new posts. Never mind, I’m satisfied with my blog stats. However, it is the reader engagement and all your comments that really make me happy.

What’s next on the Red Phone Box travels?
Well, I still have to post about my trip to Helsinki from 2023. I just blogged about Suomenlinna island but not about the rest of the sights. Likewise, I need to write about beautiful Krakow and how we had a drink in Ted Lasso’s pub in Richmond. I also need to blog about our family trip to Budapest. I’ll share some more wonderful Thursday doors posts and new Christmas posts in 2025 too as well. I might make some changes too. Perhaps I’ll drop my monthly updates or make them bi-monthly or quarterly. I might even change my blog’s look again if I find some extra free time. I can also post about many other wonderful destinations that I’ve visited some years ago and more about Croatia.
Did you like in particular any of my posts? Is there something you’d like me to blog about more?
Thank you for following my blog!
Tanja

Congratulations on your increased stats! I’m looking forward to reading about your trips to Krakow and Helsinki, and your visit to the Ted Lasso pub. I’m watching the show at the moment, so I’ll be interested to find out what you made of the pub.

It’s nice to look back over a busy year. Your husband’s board game looks interesting (and mouth watering), and I was glad to see Thursday Doors posts in your most liked. I remember those. I always enjoy it when you share some doors with us.
I hope 2025 is a good year for your family and maybe a better year for travel.
