Life & blog update: March 2025 was a complex and very eventful month. From concerts to board game nights and kid’s play dates to a girl’s trip to Amsterdam. March was also a month of goodbyes and possible new beginnings.
So, let’s start with kids’ activities. We spent a lovely Sunday on Krk island with kids. That was our first visit to Krk this year. Then, they had several fun play dates and saw a kid’s play. Our son played his first official football match as a goal keeper. I don’t know who was more excited, him or me! He was brilliant and I was so surprised to see a bunch of 7-8 year olds running after a football like proper grown up footballers. They were beyond adorable!
This year I celebrated Women’s day with my friends. We attended a concert of a major Croatian pop star. It was great fun and we danced and sang! Also, I finally had a date with my husband (that didn’t include any board games); we saw a great documentary film Fiume o morte! about a very interesting part of Rijeka’s history. Suffice to say that this movie was completely sold out for more than a month and that it received several awards.
I have to brag and say that I actually tried a new workout after practically not doing any real exercise for over a year apart form walking and going a few times to the swimming pool. I was in pain for several days after it. It wasn’t as funny as it sounds since I had a trip ahead.
Just before my girl’s trip I bought a new mobile phone and I got a new haircut. Lately, whenever I make big decisions in my life I get a haircut. Even though I was offered a new contract I’ve made a tough decision and decided to leave my current job when my contract finishes. I felt great at that job. Moreover, I was really appreciated and it was a dynamic and interesting role but it was totally unsuitable for my family. I didn’t have any concrete plans for my next step and my future when I received a phone call out of the blue on my way back from the airport. Now, I have a really interesting gig to look forward to. Perhaps, it’ll even turn into something more.
The best part of March was our girl’s trip at the end of the month. We spent an amazing long weekend exploring Amsterdam and laughing and trying out various sweet treats. We even partied at Van Gogh museum! We enjoyed a canal cruise and took a train to gorgeous Delft. One of my best friends actually had her birthday during our trip. I’ll blog in detail about our trip but firstly I’ll share a photo post soon (I already shared a door post too!).

I’m glad you had a lovely girl’s trip to Amsterdam! It’s such a beautiful city with scenic canals and a great collection of van Gogh artworks. I haven’t been back to Amsterdam in almost a decade, and I want to return sooner than later! March was a busy month for me, as I attended two weddings (including one out of state) and celebrated my birthday– a fun time, nonetheless! Thanks for sharing, Tanja, and I hope the new gig goes well for you!

How interesting that you tend to get a haircut when something changes or you need to make a choice! Like turning a new leaf
