Thursday doors: beautiful doors from Vienna

The Town Hall, Vienna

Thursday doors: beautiful doors from Vienna is a blog post for all door enthusiasts and all those who like Vienna.

Vienna is a city I know quite well. I’ve first visited it during university with my best friend. Little did I know, that years later I’d frequent Vienna quite often because of my previous job. As it happened, I haven’t been to Vienna for 6 years until this May. It felt good to be back and to see Vienna in a different light. I’ve usually visited it during winter and now I saw Vienna in bloom. There were gorgeous roses in Volksgarten and in Schönbrunn palace gardens. I noticed a number of beautiful doors but I chose to photograph just a few exceptional doors for this Thursday doors photo challenge.

What is your favourite door from Vienna?

A little side note, I first participated in Thursday doors challenge back in 2021 with this post.

Thursday Doors is a weekly feature allowing door lovers to come together to admire and share their favourite door photos from around the world. Feel free to join in the fun by creating your own Thursday Doors post each week and then sharing your link in the comments’ on Dan’s site, anytime between Thursday morning and Saturday noon (North American Eastern Time).

      1. Thanks for asking, Tanja! We aren’t coming this summer, unfortunately. My husband, a Croatian expat, seems to be in a bit of a mental rut about his country of origin. His parents have passed away, as has his beloved godmother (nun and environmentalist Sestra Marija Edita Solic), so he feels like things just aren’t the same. His sister and her family and his cousins and their families are all still there, so of course there are still people to see and new experiences to be had, but he’s having trouble finding the will. His hometown Makarska has in more recent years become overrun with tourists in the summer months when we typically travel there, so that doesn’t help. But I’m hoping that with time this will pass. I’m trying to help him think about all of this differently. Travel to Croatia had been such a staple of our summer for more than two decades, and we even lived in Zagreb for a while. I miss Croatia so much. Thanks again for asking and have a great week!

      2. Maybe you could convince him to see other parts of Croatia as well apart from his hometown. And as you stated, he still has family members in Croatia. Hope he changes his mind. Have a great week!
