Life & blog update: June 2025

Grožnjan, Croatia

Life & blog update: June 2025… was a good month. School finished, summer began and I had a few lovely dates with my friends. However, it was extremely hot for June with temperatures over 30°C.

We attended a board game festival in a small Istrian town (Brtonigla). We tried some new board games and participated in Tumblin’ dice game tournament. That was quite interesting especially since my son won the first place! He was very happy. Kids enjoyed themselves a lot at this event but I got bored after a while. However, I enjoyed our stroll around picture perfect Grožnjan the next day.

My daughter was completely adorable at her daycare group’s end of year show. She sang, recited and danced with her friends. She’s still one more year in daycare before she starts school. On the other hand, my son has successfully finished his first grade. He likes going to school and we are all very pleased with how well he’s adjusted to school. His classmates are great as well as his teachers. We had a sort of goodbye party in the forest for all the parents and kids (it was at Forest fairytale which we’ve visited previously). It was very relaxing.

As I’ve mentioned above, June was very hot here. We spent a few days at Krk island and enjoyed some beach time. Kids love it there! Days on Krk island are all the same but nonetheless they are very special for our kids and us. Beach time in the morning, lunch, some down time (cartoons, playing, drawing), beach again later in the afternoon, dinner and late evening stroll. Sometimes our friends visit us too.

I had a few dates with my girlfriends. It’s always nice to catch up in person especially with my best friend who lives in Germany. Other than that, kids had a few birthday parties to attend.

  1. The board game festival in Brtonigla sounds lovely. Well done to your son for winning a prize. And how precious the year end concert must be, full of memories. I’m sure you took loads of photos and videos!

Your time at Krk island sounds so idyllic. I am counting down to my time at the beach this year.

  2. Krk island days sound perfect. We’ve had some glorious weather here in Northern Ireland too, so lots of beach walks and a few sea swim days. Have a great July!
