Snapshots from Venice is a short, photo post featuring some of my favourite photos from our recent family trip to Venice. I know Venice well since I’ve visited it several times so I wanted to show my kids and my husband all the classic landmarks of Venice such as St.Mark’s square and Rialto bridge and a few lovely, quieter squares and back alleys. Of course, the best way to see Venice is from water so we took advantage of our travelcard and took a number of vaporetto (water bus) rides. We’ve also visited Murano island famous for its glass production and Burano island famous for its lace production and its colourful houses. Furthermore, we enjoyed a fabulous panoramic view of Venice from a bell tower from a tiny San Giorgio Maggiore island which is just across Venice’s main square Piazza San Marco.

Have you been to Venice?

[…] door knockers but I managed to stop them. If you want to see more photos from our Venice trip click here. Also, I’ll share more doors from Burano and Murano islands in some other Thursday doors […]

What a perfect family getaway! I like the action photo of your kids by the Doge’s palace. I’ve been to Venice twice while studying in Europe years ago, including once during Carnival. The city was alive with intrigue and costumes!

I’m so glad you got to experience Venice in two different occassions. Yes, they liked running after poor pigeons
