Life & blog update: December 2025

Life & blog update: December 2025…..was a good month. Honestly I’d expected it to be absolutely amazing because of my work trips and fun festive activities but then I got proper flu and felt ghastly. My kids also got the flu so it was only my husband that got spared. However, we had a lovely family Christmas lunch in Italy and a very relaxing New Year’s Eve party so I can’t really complain much.

Anyway, let’s start at the beginning. I was in Austria again because of my work. Even though I’ve visited Graz previously (one of my most popular blog posts ever is about a chocolate factory near Graz) this time I really got to see the city properly and enjoy its Christmas markets. But then I got the flu. It’s no fun being sick on a work trip. It seems that this year everyone decided to visit Vienna for its Christmas markets. The crowds were unbearable at times.

I had a low-key birthday celebration. I turned 42. I don’t feel 42 in my head but my body feels my age. Luckily, I still look younger (good genes and lots of chocolate and travel are the recipe for my youthful appearance).

As I’ve already mentioned above we spent Christmas with our relatives in Italy. Kids were exceptionally well behaved. From Christmas to New Year’s we organized several festive get-togethers with our friends. It was fun but it was also maybe a bit much since I started to crave some alone time. We watched Home alone movies with our kids for the first time. I don’t know about you but here in Croatia these movies are shown every Christmas.

In the end we didn’t get to participate in many festive activities as usually since we were sick and since I was away quite a lot. We enrolled kids at an ice-skating school. They had one lesson five days in a row and they really enjoyed it. We had a fun and relaxing New Year’s Eve party with our friends.

All in all, December was actually quite a good month.

Have you made any New year’s resolutions? I think I might skip that this year. Supposedly, this year will be awesome for Sagittariuses.

  1. I am sorry to hear that you didn’t feel well during the festive season – being sick around Christmas can be incredibly frustrating. Sending you belated birthday wishes. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx
