Thursday doors: colourful doors from Burano & Murano showcases some rather pretty, colourful doors from Venice, specifically doors from tiny islands of Burano and Murano. We visited Venice last summer and we had so much fun exploring Venice on foot and by boat. Burano island is famous for lace making and its colourful houses while Murano is famous for glass production. Both islands are charming but we loved more Burano.

Tell me, which is your favourite door?

Great collection of doors, but I think my favorite is the yellow building with the purple door and shutters. You rarely see purple on houses and it is just a great pop of color 🙂

The brightly colored ones are my favorite 🙂 Were there lots of crowds here like in Venice, or was it calmer?

Actually, it wasn’t that crowded in central Venice or here

You’ve given us a hard choice, Tanja. These are beautiful photos. I love the colorful doors, but the third door in the little gallery (the one at 462) is my favorite. I love the vine details on the glass.
