Thursday doors: gorgeous doors from Krakow

I really like this door from Krakow, Poland

My husband and I have recently visited Krakow in Poland. We explored the Old town quite well. Of course, there were many gorgeous doors so it’s no wonder that I’m sharing a few gorgeous Krakow doors for this week’s Thursday doors challenge. I really liked that some doors had a beautiful, ornate way of showing street number, not just an ordinary number plaque (e.g. golden door below and some more). If you want to see some other photos from Krakow besides doors, you can check out this post.

  1. Oh wow, Krakow likes a good solid door. To keep out the weather and the unwelcome, I suppose. All beautiful but no.2 is a real eye catcher.

  2. They are a beautiful, but my favorite is the sixth one in your collection. There’s just something about weather-beaten doors with peeling paint that intrigues me and inspires my imagination to figure out what’s behind them.

  3. Agreed, it’s hard to pick a favorite. I love the ornamentation and I do like the numbers. I really like the early one with the large hinges, and the metal door with the neatly divided fan light in the transom. If I had to pick a favorite, I’d go with the #30 door with the metal vine decorations in the glass panes. Thanks for sharing a great collection.
