Thursday doors: impressive doors from Bologna, Italy

University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy

Thursday doors: impressive doors from Bologna, Italy features some impressive old doors from charming Bologna. I can’t believe I haven’t shared any doors from Bologna before since Bologna is my favourite Italian town. I’ve been fortunate enough to have visited Bologna a number of times. Bologna is famous for its red roofs and porticoes. It also houses the oldest continually operating university in the world, Bologna University. In my opinion, Bologna is just a wonderful Italian town full of life that doesn’t conform to tourists but rather has its own thing going on.

Without further ado, enjoy some impressive doors from Bologna, Italy.

  1. Superb photos and grand doors all of them. I love that glass door at the jewelry store. I don’t think I have seen a door like that before…beautifully sculpted. Love the mirror image of the buildings you captured in that photo. Excellent.

  2. Lovely Tanja. I like the jewellery shop best. I didn’t enjoy Bologna but we were halfway through a ten day trip by then, so perhaps I need to go spend a weekend to recapture the magic?
