Life & blog update: July-September 2026… is a summary post of all our most important events from July to the end of September. This summer was scorching and never-ending and I’m glad that we finally have more regular temperatures. I’m really not a fan of summer anymore even though we live in a seaside city and can often go to the beach.
Life
We spent most of the summer on Krk island. Beach, swimming, kids’ playgrounds, evening walks…lovely but by the end of August I got bored with it all. Two day trips to different aqua-parks made a great change in that routine. Moreover, I’ve spent a relaxing weekend with my best friends in Istria too.
Unfortunately I had two vertigo episodes this summer (BPPV). It’s no fun for sure. I hate not knowing if/when it’ll happen again and the fact that there’s nothing I can do to prevent it. I just hope it doesn’t happen during my work trips.
My daughter turned 7 at the beginning of September and she’s also started school. My beautiful sassy daughter is a first-grader. She was so enthusiastic about starting school and getting all the school supplies. She was also very pleased with all her birthday parties. My son is now in 3rd grade and I must say that he wasn’t too happy that his younger sister is joining him in the school.
Travel
After our June trip to Wroclaw (Poland) we stayed in Croatia for the rest of the summer. We did two fun day trips to two different aqua-parks in Istria. My kids loved all the fun water slides and swimming pools. Then, in September we boarded the train to attend the honey festival in Gorski kotar area of Croatia. It was a short and enjoyable train ride with a complimentary gingerbread. Our kids had a blast jumping at a bouncy castle while we adults queued for pretty much everything: the honey ice-cream, the delicious meals, toilets etc. But it was a lovely day out in the forest. Unexpectedly, I had a work trip to Czechia and spent two days in Prague and a few hours exploring the fairy-tale town of Česky Krumlov. I’ve also wandered around charming town of Česke Budejovice. I’ll probably do a photo post about these two towns eventually.
Blog
I’ve been blogging a lot over these past few months. Can you believe that I’ve been blogging for over 11 years? So, this year instead of doing a regular blogiversary post I’ve shared with you my best trips from the past 11 years. I’ve also tapped into my Netherlands posts by writing about our day trip to Delft but I hope to continue writing about that trip soon. I’ve also already prepared my Christmas tree ornaments posts and my Christmas markets mug post.
