London Travel: Highlights from My last 3 Visits is a kind of nostalgic travel blog post where I reminiscence about the highlights of my last 3 visits to London.

I’ve been blogging for 11 years so I did a blogiversary post where I wrote a short recap of my most memorable trips around Europe from the past 11 years. It was quite difficult to choose just one best trip per year especially in the years when I visited London too. So, I decided to neglect London and opt for another great trip instead. Back in 2016 just before my trip to London I published a post How many times have You visited London where I did a summary of my 10 previous trips to London. Because I’ve visited London 3 more times since that post I think it’s justifiable to do a sort of update on that post.

Basically, since 2015 to 2026 I visited London 3 more times which means that I have visited London 13 times in total so far. So, not that much really, but I wanted to experience other places too. You can read all my London posts on my London page but you’ll find a sort of short recap of those 3 latest visits here.

Moreover, I really didn’t do a general post for my 2022 and 2023 visits apart from photography posts but instead I focused on individual attractions. Therefore, you’ll find below a summary of my London trips from 2016, 2022 and 2023.

2016 London trip: Paddington, Sky garden, museums, tea, meeting celebrities in Hampstead, Harry Potter

I did so much during 3 full days on this London trip. You can read all about that in my Wandering around London posts but here’s a summary of that trip’s highlights. I took a photo of the Paddington bear at the Paddington station and admired gorgeous views of London from the Sky garden for free. I’ve also searched for the London stone and found it eventually at the Museum of London. I held a gold bar at the Bank of England museum and I stood on the glass floor of the Tower bridge. I wandered all around London and bought many edible souvenirs ( some Twinings tea, biscuits,crisps etc). I pretended that I was in a Harry Potter movie at the King’s Cross Station before I went to Hampstead and practically bumped into actors Emma Thompson and Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean). To finish off my movies inspired visit I sat below the tree near Kenwood House from the Notting Hill movie. I’ve also walked around Strand, Kensigton gardens, Bayswater, Chelsea and Hyde Park. It was an amazing trip.

2022 London trip: Christmas decorations, One New Change, meeting blogger friend, red telephone boxes in Kingston, cupcakes

This London trip was a much needed break. I also incorporated a short visit to Bury St Edmunds during this trip. I arrived to London in the evening and had a festive walk around Covent garden, Piccadilly and Trafalgar since everything was already decorated for Christmas. The next day I decided to go for a walk from the Tower Bridge to Tate Modern since it was incredibly sunny and bright. Then, I discovered another free view of London from the rooftop of One New Change. Afterwards, I went on a Christmas walk with my blogger friend. But before that I also smooched around Mayfair and Bond street and I popped into the Fortnum & Mason. The last day in London was reserved for my overdue visit to the art installation Out of order in Kingston upon Thames where I’ve also discovered a rather beautiful Christmas market. Then I got back to Central London for some delicious cupcakes at Peggy Porschen and some more Christmas lights before I headed to my airport hotel since I had a very early return flight.

2023: birthday trip, Ted Lasso in Richmond, Christmas decorations and Christmas markets, books

I got to celebrate my 40^th birthday with my husband in London. It was a wonderful but rather short trip. Due to our flights schedule we just spent 2 full days in London. We did a short walk around the City of London and saw the Leadenhall Market before we caught a red double-decker bus towards Big Ben. After some obligatory photos with the Big Ben and the London Eye we took the tube from the Waterloo station to Richmond. Our goal was to retrace Ted Lasso’s steps around Richmond upon Thames. It was fun to have drinks at the original pub from the TV series Ted Lasso and to knock on his door. And then I got to wake up in Richmond on my birthday. I fell in love with that London neighbourhood. Of course, since I’m a December baby everything around London was adorned with Christmas decorations and we’ve also visited a couple of Christmas markets. After a delicious hot chocolate at Covent garden we proceeded to gorgeous bookshop Daunt books and a Harry Potter themed gallery/shop House of MinaLima before we said hello to the Tower Bridge. We ended our birthday visit at Christmas market at the Trafalgar square. It was a wonderful festive trip.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this London summary post as much as I did. I always like reminiscing about my past London trips. But please don’t ask me when I’m going to London again…if it were up to me, I would go there tomorrow but life (and money!) says otherwise…
