These photos were taken just a few days after New Year’s on the island Krk in Croatia. It was unusually cold for this part of Croatia at that time (around -5°) but that didn’t deter us from walking by the beach. There’s a special beauty in empty seaside villages and towns during winter. There’s no hustle and bustle of the summer months, no crowds, no noise. Just the blue sea and the fresh air. We were among the handful walkers that day even though it was sunny. We spent the whole holiday weekend playing board games and walking by the beach. One might say that we embraced hygge fully 🙂

All of the images I’ve ever seen from Croatia are beautiful. What a perfect time of year to go exploring the beaches! While I imagine the water is freezing, there is just something special about having the beach all to yourself! 🙂

Beaitiful shots. We spent all winter two years back in Europe…going to beaches in Spain and Portugal and even though too cold to swim obviously, we had them to ourselves and it was often sunny and always fun!

Stunning. It can be nice to visit beach towns during the winter simply to avoid the crowds! I always find myself wishing for the warm weather, though.
