I spent a long weekend in Düsseldorf last year at the end of October/beginning of November. I went there to visit my best friend and her family. It was my first proper trip since 2019 and my first flight during Covid-19 pandemic. We walked around the old city center and had some great lunches. It was Halloween so I got to see some curious Halloween decorations as well as some early Christmas displays at chocolate shops. We had perfect autumn weather for my exploration of Düsseldorf. I took a lot of door photos which I have already shared with you in Thursday doors posts. In this post I put a selection of photos of various landmarks and attractions as well as some other things that caught my eye. I hope you like these snapshots from Düsseldorf, Germany.

A walk around the old port and over the Rheine to Oberkassel neighbourhood

Kaiserswerth, Düsseldorf

some miscellaneous photos

I’ll write about the attractions that I managed to visit during my weekend trip to Düsseldorf in a separate post eventually. This is just a photo post to show you all the highlights from my trip to the beautiful German city Düsseldorf.
Have you ever been to Düsseldorf?

Gorgeous pictures! I’ve never been to Dusseldorf and I pictured it to be a grey-ish city, but I’m glad to see it actually seems beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

some of the buildings along the river look like they are from the modernist period. Very interesting mixture of architectural styles throughout your pics! Thanks for sharing!

Nice photos of Düsseldorf! I’ve been there several times over the years, mainly to go to performances at their opera house. https://operasandcycling.com/charming-jewel-of-the-fifties/

Have I ever been to Dusseldorf? Yes, but when I was only about ten years old and I remember nothing about it! Thanks for the snapshot tour 🙂 I thought the area around the canal looks particularly nice!
