12 months & 12 photos blog post has become a tradition on my blog. I first published it in 2016. You can check the posts for 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 if you want. It’s very simple: one photo for each month of the year. A photo that represents my travels and/or my life of each month of the past year.
This year I managed to travel much more than in 2024. I explored Amsterdam and Delft with my best friends. I sauntered around Venice and Bassano del Grappa with my family. We’ve also relaxed at a spa hotel in Slovenia over Easter. I had several interesting work trips. Summer was spent on Krk island as usually. For 2026 we’ve booked a fun trip for January but I’m not sure if we’ll travel much in the rest of the year. We’ll see.
In 2025 I changed my job yet again. I really liked my hospitality job but the work schedule was insane and it definitely wasn’t family friendly so I didn’t renew my contract. Instead, I got a phone call out of the blue and I got back to my true calling. Now I just need to figure out how to make a proper career out of it.
2025 was a year of trying out new things as well. I started attending exercise classes and I tried painting at a wine & paint event for one of my best friend’s birthday. My son is now in second class at school and he plays football matches in U-9 league. My daughter has learnt how to ride her bike and to swim properly. She’s also lost her first baby teeth and she’s continued her gymnastics training.
There were some challenges and problems and health issues too this year but this isn’t the place to dwell on the negatives.
Let’s look at some of the highlights of 2025:
January
We’ve spent a lovely day in the snow with kids on Platak. They enjoyed sledding very much.
February
My son participated in the Kids’ carnival parade in Rijeka and in Opatija for the first time ever. They had a great choreography to some very cool music. Their costume was a fish.

March
The highlight of the month was definitely my girl’s trip to the Netherlands. My best friends and I had a blast wandering around Amsterdam and Delft. I still need to blog about it.
April
We’ve spent Easter weekend in Slovenia in a spa hotel. Of course, I just had to squeeze in a visit to a castle too.
May
My new job started off in May and I had several fun work trips. I even got to smell some wonderful roses in Boboli garden in Florence.
June
My son finished first grade with excellent marks. We went to a board game event in a tiny Istrian town and we’ve also explored picture perfect Grožnjan.
July
Summer days are mostly spent on Krk island. Swimming, walking, eating ice-cream, playing….and there were a few fun festivals too.

August
The highlight of the month was our family trip to Venice and Bassano del Grappa. It was simply wonderful. I shared some photos from our Venice trip but I need to properly blog about it.
September
My son started second grade at school and he got into football’s team to play matches in a regional league. My daughter turned 6 in September. I can’t believe how grown up she is. We attended a cousin’s wedding in a vineyard in Italy.

October
We’ve spent a wonderful day hiking together to Zeleni Vir and Vražji prolaz (devil’s passage) in Croatia. My husband published his second board game (Tedoku by Ares games).
November
My son turned 8 in November. Time flies too quickly! I managed to enjoy Christmas markets in Vienna during my work trip.
December
I visited pretty Graz, Austria in December. It’s got lovely Christmas markets too. I celebrated my 42nd birthday in December. We’ve also enjoyed some festive activities at home.

That was my 2025 in 12 photos:)
What about your 2025? How was it?
Happy New Year!! I wish you all the best!
