2021 was quite a good year despite being ruled (again!) by COVID-19. My kids grew and entertained us with their antics. My husband sold his board game and is expecting it to be published. I changed my career completely. We managed to spend more time with family and friends. We stayed healthy (mostly). Summer felt almost like a time before worldwide pandemic. There were so many tourists in Croatia. We finally went abroad with our kids (though just for day trips). I managed to go to Germany to visit my best friend. Life was good in 2021.
2021 was a great year for my blog The Red Phone Box travels. After two years of decrease in traffic I finally turned it around and last year the number of views/visits to my blog increased significantly. 2021 was much better than 2020 and 2019 regarding the numbers. I wrote more too. I published 54 posts ( only 39 in 2020 and 43 in 2019). But that’s a far cry from 2017 and 78 posts. That was my best year in stats. To be frank I don’t know why the stats changed last year in comparison to two previous years. Maybe I posted more photo posts or attracted new followers somehow? I joined new photo challenges such as Thursday doors and Travel Photo challenge: 10 days.
I’d like to have more travel content but the reality is that like most people I didn’t travel anywhere in 2020. I did go on a couple of family day trips in 2021 and I went to Germany but I tend to be slow with putting down my adventures to paper blog. So, you can expect to read about those adventures this year. 🙂 I’d like to change my blog’s look again too and have a logo but I’m not knowledgeable about that and I don’t want to spend money on it so I might just change WordPress theme when I find a lot of free time (hmm?). I’d like to read more posts from other bloggers too.

Plans for 2022:
I don’t have any specific goals for 2022. I want to focus on my health more this year. I have some plans for the kids. I have vague ideas about possible destinations, potential trips. But no definite plans, no bookings. There will be family day trips around Croatia for sure. Perhaps we take the kids abroad on a longer trip too? Maybe my husband and I manage to go away for a city break? I’d like to visit a blogger friend this year or the next. It’s about time we actually meet in person. 🙂
It’s hard to know what will happen next. It’s difficult to make foolproof plans. Perhaps 2022 is the year we finally get rid of coronavirus? Who knows.

There are plenty of free logo makers around, or photo editors with pre made templates. Or you could just take a photo yourself and add text. Then upload it as a jpg. image file. Easy! You don’t have to pay a heap. As you know, changing themes is pretty easy with WordPress. Have a great year!

i have plans for 2022. big ish plans. too scared to talk about them yet and right now we are really in a bad place globally. lets hope it will be few months and things will be far more settled. Looking forward to hearing about your trips to Germany.

Happy to hear your blog got more traffic! Mine keeps getting less as I get more inactive myself. Also, I think many bloggers are being very quiet – maybe they quit? I really do hope Covid goes away soon and we can just do things normally. Like travel to meet blogging friends, for example! 😉

Glad 2021 was a fun year of travel for you, despite COVID! Hope that your 2022 will be just as fruitful! My goal is to hopefully travel somewhere again this year…pandemic permitting, of course!
