2022 on the Red Phone Box travels is a short overview post of my blog’s highlights last year. 2022 was a year of ups and downs. But there was plenty of travel. On the other hand, I got covid twice (at home, not on any trip) and work was very stressful. You can read all about my year in short in my 12 months & 12 photos post or read my monthly life posts for every month of the past year if you have missed something.
As I have already stated above, we travelled a lot this year. We took numerous day trips with the kids such as visiting Rastoke waterfalls in Croatia and Postojna cave in Slovenia. We’ve also taken the kids to a hotel on Brijuni islands for a long weekend in the nature. My hubby and I spent 5 days on Malta and I finally went back to London. I even had a girls’ weekend away. Most of these trips still haven’t found their rightful place on this blog but this will be the year that all my backlog posts get published (hopefully).
I posted 40 posts in 2022 which is actually less than in 2021 but my overall number of views and visitors is much greater than in the previous year. I wanted to surpass last year’s stats and I am happy to say that I accomplished that goal. Other than that, I did not achieve my other blog goals such as changing the look of my blog or posting all my drafts. Hopefully, I’ll find some time this year to finally address the change of the overall appearance of my blog.

I am quite taken aback at how well my simple Christmas markets mugs posts did. And it seems that most of these post views came from Austria. Another surprise is travel books post which holds first place in number of likes. So, maybe I should specialize only in Christmas/book content? I’m just kidding. Travel is my first love and even though you can find other kinds of posts here, I still write more about travel than about other topics.

Life & blog update: September 2022
Obviously my personal posts attract a lot of likes and comments which isn’t a surprise because we are all curious about other people’s lives. I enjoy reading these kind of update posts from other bloggers too.
Some of my personal favourites:
An afternoon in Venlo, the Netherlands
Family day out: Castles & Rastoke waterfalls

Do you have any personal favourites? Did you like a post that isn’t mentioned here among my top posts of 2022?
Plans for 2023:
If I look at my last year’s post it seems that I fulfilled a lot of my travel wishes/goals. I had a city break with my hubby and lots of day trips with my kids. I even went to London which wasn’t planned for 2022. However, that trip was so good for my heart and soul. So, new plans for 2023: a possible birthday trip to London with my hubby in December, another trip to Brijuni islands with our kids because they liked it a lot, a visit to my best friend in Germany but this time with the kids and perhaps even a trip with my hubby to the board game conference in Essen. I’d really love to meet up with my Finnish blogger friend too. Of course, there will be day trips with kids too. I’d be really happy if I manage to fulfill all these travel wishes. For now, the only thing that’s booked is a weekend trip to Padua, Italy with my husband and friends.
What are your plans for 2023? Do you have any travel wishes or travel plans?
Thank you for following my blog! I am very grateful for all your comments and likes.

Seems like 2022 was a great year for your blog and personal life (apart from the busyness at work)! I think some of my favourite posts from you this year were the ones about Malta and the local adventures (day trips or family outings)! I’m sure this year will be even better for you!

Off to snowy Finland soon. I do hope you manage to get there sometime this year as it’s one of my favourite countries and it will be great for you to visit and to hopefully meet up with your Finnish blogger friend too.
