My Christmas tree travel ornaments is a series of short blog posts about my special Christmas tree ornaments that I’ve bought over the years on my travels.
My Christmas Tree Travel Ornaments: Helsinki

I visited my Finnish friend in Helsinki this June. It was funny because I mentioned to her how I wanted to buy a Christmas ornament but she said that she hasn’t seen them around. As it turned out, I managed to find plenty of Christmas ornaments in the very first souvenir shop I stepped into. It was across Temppeliaukio Church (the so called Church of the Rock). Later, I found Christmas ornaments in other souvenir shops as well.
Have you been to Helsinki?

My wife and I have a massive collection of travel procured Christmas ornaments, too. They are carefully packed away while we travel in our Van.

Please do, especially during the Advent season, but I imagine it’s beautiful in spring too… The hills are alive with The Sound of Music…. 🙂

This is a great idea! Finspiration / Kankurin Tupa has a Christmas section downstairs in their shop on Pohjoisesplanadi. I didn’t buy myself an ornament, but I did get my friend one.

Lovely ornament and Yes I have been to Helsinki and to the church but not at Xmas! It was still cool in June even though I was in denial. I had a beautiful hotel on the harbour. I loved all the different salmon I could buy there! The green of the parks and the fresh leafy smell of Spring/summer. It is different to the smells here – being so humid, there is sometimes a rotting odour on the most humid days…..

Gorgeous and classy little Christmas ornament! I’ve been to Helsinki, but not in the winter time; however, I’ve heard its Christmas market is absolutely gorgeous! Wishing you a wonderful holiday season. 🙂

A beautiful ornament! I was in Helsinki for a day, over on the ferry from Tallinn. I loved Market Square, but didn’t find much else to explore in the city, possibly because it was a drenching rain that day! Sometimes it’s all timing. 😊😝

Strange that I’ve visited Finland dozens of times but never at Christmas so I don’t have any baubles from there yet! Oh dear, need to get at least one.

No worries, just check any souvenir shop and they will have it, no matter the season!

I just love how each year decorating the tree allows you to reminisce about the places that you have visited.

TBH I’m not a fan of Scandinavia in general. Helsinki was okay.
