My Christmas Tree Travel Ornaments: Helsinki

My Christmas tree travel ornaments is a series of short blog posts about my special Christmas tree ornaments that I’ve bought over the years on my travels.

My Christmas Tree Travel Ornaments: Helsinki

wooden Christmas ornament from Helsinki, Finland

I visited my Finnish friend in Helsinki this June. It was funny because I mentioned to her how I wanted to buy a Christmas ornament but she said that she hasn’t seen them around. As it turned out, I managed to find plenty of Christmas ornaments in the very first souvenir shop I stepped into. It was across Temppeliaukio Church (the so called Church of the Rock). Later, I found Christmas ornaments in other souvenir shops as well.

Have you been to Helsinki?

  1. Lovely ornament and Yes I have been to Helsinki and to the church but not at Xmas! It was still cool in June even though I was in denial. I had a beautiful hotel on the harbour. I loved all the different salmon I could buy there! The green of the parks and the fresh leafy smell of Spring/summer. It is different to the smells here – being so humid, there is sometimes a rotting odour on the most humid days…..

  2. Gorgeous and classy little Christmas ornament! I’ve been to Helsinki, but not in the winter time; however, I’ve heard its Christmas market is absolutely gorgeous! Wishing you a wonderful holiday season. 🙂

  3. A beautiful ornament! I was in Helsinki for a day, over on the ferry from Tallinn. I loved Market Square, but didn’t find much else to explore in the city, possibly because it was a drenching rain that day! Sometimes it’s all timing. 😊😝
