Life & blog update : February 2021….was an exciting month. I went on a work trip to beautiful Split. But let me go back in time and explain everything. I was supposed to go back to work in November after my prolonged maternity leave would have finished. However, even before the summer I toyed with the idea of a new beginning, of a complete change of career. I finally plucked up my courage and quit my job. To be clear, I’d be unemployed in a couple of months anyway because my contract would have ended by this spring so quitting earlier wasn’t such a big deal. Deciding not to pursue my existing career and finding a completely different job was a dramatic change. You’re probably thinking how changing a career during a global pandemic isn’t the smartest decision ever.
Of course, I didn’t end up with a mind- blowing job or a super paid job. But I got a job. A job that pays the bills. A job that I like so far. Furthermore, it’s something I have never done before, so it’s a completely new experience. That’s why I spent two weeks in Split at the end of February/beginning of March. It was exhausting, to say the least. I had very limited free time but I managed to utilize it well. I had exquisite cakes and delicious ice-cream in the sun. I wandered the streets of the former Roman palace and lived within its cold walls. I took a lot of photos, so you can bet that I’ll post at least a photo post of my time in Split if not a travel guide kind of post too.
I missed my kids terribly. It was the longest ever that we spent apart. But you know what, I also had a break from the less attractive aspects of motherhood. And when I got back from my work trip, I dived back into it all, the good and the ugly. The kisses and the constant fighting and screaming. But that’s life with a 3 year old and a 1.5 year old.
What else really? I’ve published travel photo challenge posts throughout February. It was fun to do it. You can also read about the origins of my blog if you missed that post last month.
What about you? How was your February?

February certainly was a busy month for you! Glad you manage to find happiness with a new career and a refreshing time in Split, which truly is a beautiful city! My February was one filled with gorgeous hikes in my hometown, all the while trying new cuisines at different restaurants. Here’s hopefully to more adventures this year, and I look forward to your update for March!
